Dear Mark Cuban: Trump’s Healthcare Plan Protects the PBM Cartel

Hey Mark.

We the patients need to talk about this "Great Healthcare Plan" that purports to "end kickbacks paid by pharmacy benefit managers to large brokerage middlemen."

Sounds great, right?

Except here's what it doesn't do:

→ Doesn't require net pricing

→ Doesn't break up vertical integration

→ Doesn't stop PBMs from owning specialty pharmacies

→ Doesn't prevent formulary manipulation

→ Doesn't give employers access to their own claims data

→ Doesn't address the GPO shell game you've been screaming about

It requires insurance companies to "publish the percentage of claims they reject."

You know what we think this is? A press release dressed up as policy. Lipstick on a pig.

You've sat in front of the Senate and called PBMs a cartel. You've walked into rooms full of CEOs and asked them one simple question: "What does your PBM do that a pass through PBM can't?" And nobody raises their hand.

Because there's no answer.

You've shamed executives into silence with basic math. And when insurance companies screw patients over, you swoop in like Robin Hood and pay for their care yourself.

You've shown us what transparency actually looks like. Publishing your price list. Showing the markup. Letting patients see what drugs actually cost before they buy.

This plan? It's transparency theater.

The tens of thousands of cancer community members I engage with on the daily don't need a website that shows how often their claims get denied. We already know. We live it. Every prior authorization. Every step therapy. Every "site review" that's really just risk transfer.

Our mutual Sally Neely Nix just had to write a legal brief to Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina to get her *already approved* IVIG infusion. Treatment that was deemed medically necessary by an external reviewer. Treatment she received all of 2025. Denied again in 2026. She won because she knew how to fight.

This is intentional.

And most patients don't.

So here's the question for you, Mark:

What do you think of this big beautiful plan? From a scale of "mild scabies" to full-blown "hysterical diarrhea,' where does this land on your BS-meter? Because we think it's another handout to the cartel you've been trying to dismantle.

The patient community wants to know. We're listening.

Welcome to 2026: The Year of the Patient where the sick shall inherit the ballot.

If this hits home, drop your horror story in the comments and tell me where you have seen it happen. How about a rage repost? Or tag a former colleague just for fun. Every impression pushes this in front of more people who deal with the same mess.

Are you new here? My condolences and my thanks. Follow along and stay loud with the rest of us. More voices means more pressure on a system that counts on silence
