Ask Not What Science Can Do For You

Six former surgeons general stood up and said the quiet part loud. Robert F Kennedy Jr is a threat to public health. They did not hedge. They did not send a memo. They wrote a full-blown op-ed and called him dangerous.

RFK Jr purged the CDC’s vaccine advisory committee. Every expert. Gone. That happened in June. It barely made the news. Now he’s filling the vacuum with political yes-men and conspiracy cosplay. This is not hypothetical. People inside those agencies are quitting. Scientists are walking away. Morale is tanking. Expertise is leaving the building.

You don’t need to agree on every vaccine to understand what happens when you delete the referee. This is a classic authoritarian power move. Defund the watchdogs. Discredit the nerds. Rebrand the crackpots as truth-tellers. Install your own narrators.

This country made public health boring on purpose. Because when it works, nobody notices. When it breaks, people die. RFK Jr is not breaking the system from outside. He is sitting in the control room, pulling levers with zero brakes and zero science.

The six former surgeons general saw this for what it is. A deliberate campaign to hollow out trust and replace it with noise. That noise will cost lives. It already has. And if you think this ends with vaccines, you are not paying attention.
