I Was A Guest On The Doctors Making A Difference Podcast
Peter M. Crane, MD built his podcast around the idea that medicine still has heart. That somewhere under the billing codes, compliance training, and burnout memes, there are doctors who remember why they started. Our conversation cracked open that tension between purpose and profit, between the healer and the hostage of a broken system.
He talked about returning to Idaho to replace the physician who literally delivered him. I told him what it felt like to build an entire movement out of the rubble left behind by mine.
Different paths. Same disease. The loss of autonomy. The erosion of trust. The moment when empathy becomes a liability instead of a virtue.
We talked about what happens when doctors and patients both feel trapped by the same machinery. The same insurers. The same administrative chokehold. The same moral injury dressed up as “healthcare.” And how, against all odds, some of us still choose to stay in the fight.
That’s what makes Peter’s show matter. It’s not about making medicine great again. It’s about proving it still breathes.
