North Carolina FTW?

The Tar Heel State is taking a stand against prior authorization. House Bill 434, the CARE FIRST Act, aims to reform how insurance companies handle approvals for medical treatments. This could mean fewer delays and denials for patients.

As a cancer survivor and advocate, I've seen firsthand how prior authorization can obstruct timely care. Delays in scans and treatments aren't just frustrating—they can be life-threatening.

This bill seeks to put medical decisions back where they belong: between doctors and patients, not in the hands of insurance bureaucrats.

The North Carolina Medical Society supports this initiative, highlighting the need for timely and necessary care without unnecessary hurdles.

However, not everyone is on board. Some lawmakers are introducing bills that could make such reforms more difficult by discouraging government mandates on insurance companies

It's time to challenge the status quo. Who benefits when patients face delays due to red tape? Certainly not the patients.

Bravo NC! Let's all back efforts like the CARE FIRST Act that prioritize patient care over administrative barriers.
