RFK Jr. to Oust Advisory Panel on Cancer Screenings, HIV Prevention Drugs

RFK Jr. wants to kill the federal panel that sets the standards for cancer screenings and HIV prevention. The one thing keeping chaos in check. The one thing that tells your doctor when to test you, your kid, your partner. The one thing insurance companies can’t argue with when they decide whether to cover the test that saves your life. He wants it gone.

This is the part where you’re supposed to laugh because it sounds like a bad headline from The Onion. But it’s real. And it’s happening in broad daylight.

Millions of Americans walk around with silent cancers every day. Screening catches them before they kill you. Millions more are alive today because of HIV prevention strategies born out of decades of brutal history. Tearing this down isn’t policy. It’s sabotage dressed up as populism.

And here’s where I think something is shifting. I don’t know about you, but my spidey sense says Main Street America is catching on. People are sick of the chaos. We’ve been overdue for a cancer patient rights movement. Imagine what happens when we finally drop the tribal politics, turn anger into purpose, and clap back with something bigger than any one election.

At this point I don’t care who you voted for. I pray to God you didn’t vote for this. Because otherwise we can’t be friends.
