There’s a budget bill in Congress that might as well be called the “Die Quieter, America” Act. It slashes Medicaid, rips away ACA subsidies, and throws millions into medical freefall.
This NPR piece should wreck you. It’s story after story of people falling through cracks that shouldn’t exist. Folks working jobs but earning just enough to lose coverage. People skipping meds, canceling appointments, and using expired eye drops because they can't pay $300 out of pocket.
People like Alton Fry, a self-employed cancer patient in Georgia, are already rationing care and begging for help on GoFundMe. The cruelty is policy.
That's not just broken. That’s sabotage.
All while Congress pushes “work requirements” for people who literally can’t walk, let alone work. And calls it moral.
We already spend more per capita on healthcare than any other rich country. This bill doesn’t fix a thing. It’s a handout to the rich and a middle finger to anyone too sick, too poor, or too honest to game the system.
