Two decades ago, Jonny Imerman and I (along with our army of amazing cohorts) were macheteing our way through a jungle of "what the hell are we actually doing?" We were just trying to make noise, rattle cages, and force the world to notice young adult cancer.

And somehow, we did—all of us.

So, while I am aging gracefully, Jonny is aging backward. While I am dealing with bursitis and lower back pain, Jonny remains in peak physical condition with his vegan mulch sack in tow. While I navigate the chaos of parenting 15-year-old twins, Jonny is Earth's most eligible bachelor.

But this is about gratitude. It's about the people who've fought beside us, the ones who paved the way, and the ones who are taking the fight forward — because if we don't do it, it won't get done. Advocacy is under attack like never before, so never forget that, together, our voices are louder when we all face the same direction
