Silence Is What Hate Thrives On.

Antisemitism isn't new. Jews have faced hatred, blame, and persecution for centuries—from the pogroms to the Holocaust. We've been accused of poisoning wells, controlling banks, deicide, and everything in between.

It's exhausting, horrifying, and sadly predictable.

What terrifies me now is watching it happen again.

Growing up, I saw swastikas spray-painted on my synagogue. Our family station wagon was stolen and burned as part of a targeted hate crime. I've been mocked, harassed, and attacked. I thought I could handle it. But nothing prepared me for seeing my kids grow up in this mess.

My twins hide their Chai necklaces under their shirts because it's safer.

My son's 8th-grade yearbook was defaced with a swastika. Imagine being 14 and seeing a symbol of hate in a book meant to celebrate such an academic adolescent milestone.

And it's not just about one swastika.

Antisemitism is everywhere—up 900%. One in five young Americans thinks the Holocaust is a myth. One in five. How do I explain to my kids that their classmates might believe the murder of six million Jews—including members of our family—never happened?

This ignorance isn't just appalling; it's dangerous.

When people deny your history, they deny your humanity. And that's how persecution begins—again.

We tend to cluster in places like NYC for safety in numbers. But even here, swastikas appear on playgrounds, slurs are shouted, and we're told to "just deal with it."

This isn't just a Jewish problem.

No one is born full of hate. It's not nature. It's nurture. Hate doesn't stop with us—it spreads. It poisons societies and corrupts systems.

When one group is targeted, everyone loses.

I'm angry. I'm heartbroken. I'm terrified. But I refuse to be silent.

Silence is what hate thrives on.

If you've read this far, ask yourself: what kind of world do you want your kids to grow up in? One rooted in truth and empathy—or one rotted by hate? And don't me started on October 7th and all the shit happening on college campuses. That's for another tirade.
